How To Find The Perfect Mascara for Your Lash Type

Whether round or square brushing, made of rubber or natural fibers, for volume or length – mascaras are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. But not every product is suitable for every type of eyelash. We present four different types of eyelashes and your favorite mascara:

Unruly eyelashes

With unruly eyelashes, structuring is the order of the day. Good are movable (rubber) brush heads with pointed ends and fine bristles that reach every hooked eyelash.

Long eyelashes

If the eyelashes are not growing very tightly, volume mascara is just right. Use a comb after washing to separate the lashes. Alternative: mascaras that have a comb instead of a brush.

Straight eyelashes

Before applying mascara, bend the lashes up with the eyelash curler. For a good stand, apply a special mascara to the base of the lashes. A new mascara, whose special composition envelops each individual lash, will make the curl last longer.

Few eyelashes

With volume mascara the lashes appear thicker. Professional technique for application: apply from the inside out and from the base of the lashes to the tip, while jerking. This also separates and lengthens the lashes a little. When mascara is applied in brown it looks completely natural.

None like the other

In a study of 2280 women from the USA, Europe and Asia, the cosmetics company Lancôme determined that lashes differ in length, density, direction of growth and the so-called angle of inclination, which is responsible for the curl. There is a suitable mascara for everyone.

Extra tip: Create the perfect frame

In order to bring the lashes into the right focus and to emphasize them optimally, the eyebrows should also be shaped. This immediately brings more radiance to the face. And this is how it works:

1. Find the starting point: Think of a straight line, from the nostril upwards.
2. Find the end point: Draw an imaginary diagonal from the nostril to the outer corner of the eye and beyond, to the brow. By the way: Start and end points should lie on a horizontal line.
3. The shape: In the beginning the brow should be widest and slowly become narrower towards the end – from the last third onward even more distinct. Important: Always pluck off single hairs from below and always in the direction of growth (hurts less). To prevent the eyebrows from being plucked to different degrees, first mark the frame with a brow pencil. Fill in any gaps with a pencil or brow powder and then brush. Always follow the natural hair color, if in doubt, use a lighter shade.

Tip: If you are unsure, you can also have your eyebrows plucked or waxed at the hairdresser or beautician and then simply keep the eyebrows in shape yourself.
