5 Reasons Why Your Makeup Doesn’t Last All Day

Do you always have the feeling that your make-up just won’t last? Then it could be because of these five popular makeup flaws.

1. Primer forgotten

For those who work with foundation, applying the color is often the first step in makeup. And here lies the first reason why make-up will not last all day (or all night). Because, whether we notice it or not, we sweat all day long and lose fluid that binds with the foundation and simply “drains off”. Therefore, it makes sense to apply a primer before the foundation. This ensures that skin and make-up are “separated” from each other. This makes the foundation more durable and keeps it where it should stay.

2. Care & foundation have too little exposure time

You apply a moisturizer before applying make-up? Super! If you want to minimize the coverage of the foundation, you can even apply both together. But be careful: A few minutes should pass before you apply powder, mascara and bronzer. If care and foundation cannot be absorbed long enough, they will later combine with the other make-up products. This creates a mask-like appearance, the products lose their effectiveness and the hold becomes crumbly.

3. You apply the products with your fingers

We admit: Especially eye shadow can sometimes be blended more easily and precisely with the fingers. But one thing must be clear. If you apply your beauty products with your fingers, you have to say goodbye to them sooner. The reason: Fingers can only be used very superficially. Only the right beauty brush, with which, in the best case, the colors are “tapped” into the skin, ensures that the color is worked well into the skin and is durable for a long time.

4. The fixation is forgotten

Foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara and blush sit where they should? Perfect. But unfortunately at this point you are not quite finished – the fixation has to be done. Make-up fixers come in different forms, mostly as a light powder or spray. Powder or spray the face – done! It fixes all make-up products and prevents smudging.

5. You touch each other in the face

An often underestimated reason why the make-up does not last: You touch your face all day. Whether while thinking, dabbing your mouth after eating or because it itches. You are constantly running your hand across your face unconsciously, making sure bit by bit that the makeup is absorbed or distributed by your fingers and disappears.
