Applying Bronzer: 4 Steps to a Summer Complexion

Good news: You don’t need a vacation for a fresh holiday stone, just a bronzer. We’ll tell you how to apply the bronzer so that your complexion looks like freshly kissed by the sun.

Applying bronzer in 4 steps

  1. Pick up some bronze powder with a brush and tap on the back of the hand so that the excess particles fall off.
  2. Fish mouth, please. Place the brush on the edge of the face and apply under the cheekbone. Blend the powder well on the cheeks.
  3. Then apply the bronze powder to the face on the temples and the hairline of the forehead and blend well again, creating a kind of shadow. Bonus: A high forehead will be visually reduced.
  4. For a sun-kissed look, apply the bronzer to the bridge of the nose and chin, where sunlight usually hits the face first.

Tip: Start with a little bronze powder and increase your level step by step. Too much dark powder can otherwise look very unnatural and the face looks cluttered. A touch of bronze powder is usually quite sufficient for a natural make-up.

How can I apply the bronzer?

It is best to use a dense, firm contouring brush. If the powder brush is too soft, the bronzer cannot be applied accurately. Only when it comes to veneering the product on the face should you reach for a softer, light brush.

The Bronzer is liquid like a foundation? A creamy texture is particularly useful for people with dry skin. In this case, a beauty sponge is perfect for applying the product to the face. Again, apply the liquid bronzer with the more pointed side and blend with the wider side.

Applying the biggest mistakes with the bronzer

  • Hard edges: In order to avoid hard edges, the bronzer should be applied in circular movements and always be well (!) veneered. Take your time to do this, so that the complexion looks even and the powder adapts easily to your skin tone.
  • Wrong color: If the bronzer is too dark, it quickly looks unnatural. If it’s too light, you can hardly see it. The perfect bronzer should be two to three shades darker than your skin color.
  • Too much of a good thing: Sure, a little tanning will make your complexion look fresh and healthy. If you apply too much, however, the whole thing quickly turns into a solarium accident. So use the bronzer sparingly on the face and only apply it to the areas described above.
  • Brown face, white neck: Especially when you contour your chin, the neck is often forgotten. Result: The colour of the neck and the colour of the face no longer match. Help! Therefore always compare the neck with the face and possibly apply some powder. This way the make-up is perfectly matched.
  • Monotonous: With a beautiful bronze complexion a lot has already been achieved. But the face shines even more beautifully if you add a little rouge to the make-up look. Here you can learn how to apply the rouge.

Which bronzer is best for me?

However, before you can apply the tips, you need to know which bronzer is ideal for your particular make-up look. Some bronzers are better for contouring, while others will give you a more glowing complexion. The small but important difference is the glitter particles. If you prefer to contour your face, for example to highlight your cheekbones, you should use a matt bronzer. If you feel like a sun-kissed make-up look, you can add a glittering bronzer.

Bronzers and highlighters go hand in hand. They are practically the best friends among beauty products. Where the bronzer is used, the highlighter is not far away and in combination they make the complexion shine even more. That’s why we will also show you how to apply the highlighter correctly. With it the summer complexion is perfect all around!
