Children’s birthday: Tips for the special day

Nothing should go wrong on the birthday of the birthday boy or girl. This checklist helps to keep the overview:

  1. Arrangement: What does the birthday child want for his or her celebration? Should there be a certain motto or does he wish for a special location? Find out together what is financially and organizationally possible.
  2. Invitations: Think about the invitations for the guests at an early stage so that they can make a note of the appointment. Two to three weeks in advance is a good lead time.
  3. Location: Will the birthday party take place at home or away? If necessary, reserve tickets or the premises in good time at the party location, ask if you need to bring any decoration or food.
  4. Decoration and gift: Children don’t need much to be happy – but they are still happy about a loving decoration for their special day! Tip: If you want to save yourself the trouble of looking for party items, you can also buy ready-made decoration kits on a wide variety of themes! If you plan to give the little guests a little present at the end of the party, pack them a few days in advance and save yourself additional stress on your birthday.
  5. Planning: When to play, eat, go on an excursion? Plan the party as far as possible in advance and make a rough schedule so that the other parents know when the party is over and can pick up their children.
  6. Eating: Eating together, snacks, cake buffet? What does the guest of honor want for his day and note how many people should plan for food and buy it accordingly. Let some recipes be prepared in advance – go ahead! So not everything happens on the child’s day of honor.

How many guests should be invited? This cannot be answered in a general way and depends on the child, does it feel more comfortable in a small group or do you prefer to have many children around you? As many guests as the age of the birthday child, is a rule to be followed.

A scavenger hunt and/or theme party is possible both outdoors and indoors. A treasure hunt is only one of many possible activities for the birthday party inside. A lot of games, handicraft projects and other experiences are available for a successful party.

1. Handicrafts

Handicrafts are not only fun, the little ones can also take their home-made treasure home as a nice souvenir. The projects do not have to be complicated and time-consuming, how about …

  2. Everyone interlocks their hands behind their back.
  3. At the starting signal, everyone starts to eat their chocolate kiss – without the help of their hands!
  4. The first one who has completely eaten his treat is the winner!

Balloon dance

Laughs are guaranteed at the balloon dance! Two children are always playing together, so the game is also suitable for larger groups. Now only balloons and music are missing:

  1. The constellations of two are facing each other and clamp an inflated balloon between their foreheads. Hands remain on the back.
  2. Now the music starts and the couples dance, but they must not lose the balloon. In this case they are eliminated!
  3. The last couple with a balloon wins.

And five more classics that everyone knows:

  1. Unpacking chocolate
  2. Musical chairs
  3. Chinese whispers
