Detoxify Naturally: It’s That Easy!

Detoxify naturally – and thus rid the body of superfluous pollutants that we absorb through our environment. We explain how this works!

How does the body cleanse itself?

Every day our body is exposed to numerous harmful substances that are filtered and disposed of by detoxification organs such as the liver, kidneys, lungs and skin. As long as the work of these organs is functioning smoothly, we are doing well. However, if the exposure to harmful substances or environmental toxins increases or the cleaning powers of our body stagnate, this can have an effect on our health.

How can I tell if I should detox?

If the body is out of balance and burdened by toxins, the following symptoms can occur:

  • Exhaustion
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Insomnia
  • Headache
  • Irritability

When should we detox, of course?

If you are suffering from such complaints for which your doctor cannot find a clear cause, a detoxification cure (detox) could help you. Detox can detoxify the body by relieving the organs and restarting our metabolism.

Detoxify naturally – for example with healing earth

There are various home remedies that can be used to detoxify the body naturally. These include:

  • Healing clay: Healing earth can bind poison and is considered to be less stressful than, for example, colonic irrigations. The healing clay is simply swallowed by the spoonful
  • Pulling oil: Oil extraction is a very old Ayurvedic method to get rid of harmful substances. To extract the oil, simply take a tablespoon of cold-pressed oil in your mouth and rinse it back and forth between your teeth for about 20 minutes
  • Milk thistle: An active ingredient in the fruits of milk thistle supports the detoxification work of the liver. The plant is available in capsule form in pharmacies or health food shops
  • Dandelion: Although it tastes a little bitter, it supports our digestion and the intestines because it increases the production of bile. Dandelion leaves are good for detoxification cures, for example in salads.

Detoxification: Does it really have to be a cure?

Of course, it is even better to completely prevent a necessary detoxification cure by living a healthy life. The following aspects can help:

  • Healthy diet with many milk and whole grain products, fruit, vegetables and lean meat
  • Exercise – at best at least three times a week for 30 minutes each
  • Reduce stress, e.g. by taking time out or by using relaxation techniques such as yoga and / or meditation
  • Little alcohol
  • Not smoking
