Red Eyeliner | The Most Beautiful Beauty Trend at Christmas Time

Red eyeliner is the perfect beauty trend at Christmas time. We will tell you why and how you can easily make up the look.

From glittery looks to red lips – in the Christmas season it may be a bit more make-up for some people. But not for everyone. But that doesn’t mean that you have to do without festive make-up. With this simple beauty trend you can conjure up something very special without effort and hours of work.

Red eyeliner is at the top of our trend list this winter. Red is not only mega Christmassy, it’s also a cool eye-catcher for all those who like it rather minimalistic. And we promise you: you won’t have to worry about the results looking like a rash or infection. If you pay attention to a few things, you can’t do anything wrong!

1. The Right Red Tone

Burgundy or a bright cherry? It’s best to choose the red so that the undertone harmonises well with your skin tone. If you have a very cool pink skin tone, you can go for a bluish, cool red tone. If you have a more yellowish skin tone, for example, you might prefer a burgundy tone or a berry red. Of course, these are only guidelines – anything you like is allowed with make-up.

2. No Eyeliner?

We know: colorful eyeliner is not exactly a dime a dozen. Especially not in red. What do we do now? Don’t panic, there are other solutions. An eyeliner pencil works just as well and those who prefer to work with a brush can make their own eyeliner from eye shadow. For this you need a colourless gel or liquid with which you can mix the eye shadow. The best known are from Mixing Medium by MAC or Duraline by Inglot. These you simply put some loose eye shadow (you can scrape some product out of the pan) on a small coaster, mix everything together and then pull the eyeliner. Soooo cool!

3. It’s a Match!

If you want the look to be particularly harmonious, choose the lipstick that matches the colour of the eyeliner. This makes the eyeliner look less conspicuous. This often gives you a better feeling yourself. You can also match the eyeshadow look to the red liner. However, the more red, the more blatant the overall look. The minimalists among you will probably stick to the more discreet version.

And another tip: You can also wear the red eyeliner or kohl only at the lower waterline. It looks super stylish and in a suit with the right eye make-up it looks really festive (or even summery – it all depends on the red tone).
