Skin Detox: 4 tips for a Radiant Complexion

The happy humid slide into the New Year leaves its marks on our skin. With our four tips for the New Year’s Skin Detox, your skin will start the new decade radiant.

With Karacho, fireworks and a few glasses of sparkling wine, wine and rum too much, we successfully entered the new decade. However, the carousing night with dark circles under the eyes on our tired and dehydrated skin is now unmistakably noticeable and also some unwelcome guests on forehead, cheeks and chin become visible. To help us and our skin quickly start the year looking radiant again, we have listed four important tips for a New Year’s skin detox.

Soak it Up – Replenish Moisture with Hyaluronic acid

Increased alcohol consumption on holidays causes our skin to dehydrate. The dehydrating effect of alcohol is particularly noticeable in a tired and pale complexion and feelings of tension. The skin has been dehydrated – now it is time to fill up with water. We should drink at least 1.5 litres of water every day to give the complexion a fresh look. Dry areas are best counteracted with a fine peeling that gently removes the dead skin cells. A rich hyaluronic acid serum then ensures that moisture is better stored in the skin cells.

Pimples, Blackheads and Co? We’ll Pass

Beauty comes from within and therefore it is even more important what we supply our body with every day. Anyone who consumes too much sugar quickly gets the bill for it – pimples, blackheads and the like are the result. So that the skin can regenerate quickly and pimples heal quickly, the motto is “Bye-Bye Sugar”. In order to detoxify the body and skin completely, we also recommend avoiding alcohol, coffee and animal foods. This gives the liver and kidneys the chance to completely rid themselves of the harmful toxins and ensures a clear and radiant complexion in the long term.

Waiting and Drinking Tea

The liver, as the central metabolic organ, is the detoxification station of our body. Every day, its filter function ensures the breakdown and elimination of antioxidants. However, some toxins are so persistent that they get stuck in the body when they are absorbed in too large quantities – we think, for example, of the alcohol excesses on New Year’s Eve. Guilty … To support the natural performance of the liver, alcohol should be replaced with green tea as a matter of urgency. As a strong antioxidant, green tea neutralizes free radicals and therefore has a strong detoxifying effect. At the same time, the high fluid intake ensures that the kidneys, through which the waste products are disposed of, are flushed out properly and maintain their detox function. And then we have to wait until all the harmful substances we have ingested over the holidays are thankfully flushed out with tea.

Squeaky Clean – Remove Make-up Properly

On New Year’s Eve, make-up has to sparkle, shine, glitter and above all be bombproof to make it last all night. So we bring out the big guns, use primer, one layer of foundation more than usual, setting powder to keep it in place and one, two or even three squirts of setting spray to seal the masterpiece. Zack, are we ready to party through the night The important thing is that we remove these make-up residues from our skin every day.

Depending on your skin type, it is best to use a gentle cleansing milk, a foaming washing gel or the popular micelle water. Afterwards, a toner ensures that all residues have actually been removed in the first step and helps the skin to absorb further care products for the necessary moisture balance. These cleansing steps are of course not only valid on days like New Year’s Eve. That goes without saying, right?!
