8 Ideas for Cool Kids’ Rooms

What used to be simply functional must now be really beautiful. Here are our tips for great kids’ rooms.

Fortunately, there are countless offers and DIY instructions to conjure up rooms for little characters today. And they are fun for mums and kids!

1. Pick a topic!

No matter if it is the pirate’s bunk, the gym room, geometric or monochrome: hold on to your idea. A harmonious frame provides peace and a beautiful view despite the colourful toy chaos. Tidy and untidy!

2. Sibling Room

A children’s room for two does not have to become monothematic. Everyone can have their own corner with their own concept including colour and unique elements. Simply divide the room into colours.

3. Against the wall

Come simply everything that pleases! Decoration in neon is just as trendy as geometric wall stickers. And even the youngest children can help to design it. Besides, nowadays we also hang up cuddly toys or words and pictures from masking tape.

4. Outside in!

Why only romp and climb outside? Wild children also enjoy a climbing wall, the trampoline or the swing in their own room. Please pay attention to the safety precautions and correct assembly!

And if you want to enhance the outdoor feeling even more, you can add a photo wallpaper of the forest, the meadow or the beach behind it.

5. Adventure sleep!

If this has been a problem so far, a more comfortable bed can help! House, car or bunk beds always go down well and the little ones fall asleep after playing – at least in theory… Some children also prefer to sleep in the play tent. Then make sure they have the right underlay so that it is healthy.

6. Renovation work

Where there used to be fixed elements in the children’s room, furniture designers are now focusing more and more on furniture that can be modelled. This means that beds can be converted into benches or adapted to the body size. Individual cupboard and shelf modules can be rearranged in the room again and again, placed crosswise or on edge, colourfully pasted, fitted with castors or extended with even more modules.

7. Create nice storage space!

The more possibilities children have to put away their toys easily and quickly, the more they actually like to do so. Here, too, the experts have more and more stylish boxes, chests and shelves on offer. Very practical are also the play materials that can be tied up into a bag.

8. Like the big ones!

As children grow older, they want to do more and more things themselves and this should also be reflected in the children’s room. These can be very small elements that give them a great feeling of autonomy: their own wardrobe, a mirror with a shelf or the sitting area in the room.

All that remains is to say: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Especially our children!
