Why detox?

You drank too much, ate too much and partied? Are you tired, your digestion sluggish and your skin unclean? Then it is high time for an extra portion of energy thanks to detox treatment! During the course of this treatment, you completely avoid foods that overacidify your body, such as meat, cheese, white flour, sweets, alcohol, coffee and green tea for a while.

Instead, the plan includes fruit, vegetables, potatoes, nuts or tasty basic cereals – foods that help your body to deacidify.

How does detox work in everyday life?

A detox treatment can be integrated wonderfully into everyday life. The recipes from our detox weekly schedule are easy to prepare and those who want to deacidify their body no longer need to go to a resort or take extra holidays. When fasting, however, pay attention to heat and cold stimuli, massages, acupressure and exercise in addition to your diet – ideally in the fresh air. This stimulates the blood circulation and thus the metabolic processes in the body and substances that the body cannot use are excreted more quickly.

Ideally, a detox cure lasts between seven and 14 days, but a detox weekend is also possible. At the beginning of the detox treatment, the intestines are completely emptied with the help of Glauber’s salt. We will tell you how a bowel evacuation works in our 12-day fasting program.

5 tips for your energy cure

Our weekly schedule contains many great tips for your body care and exercise during the cure – we have summarized the most important ones for you:

  • Wake up with lemon water: Lemon water is always a good idea – but especially as a lukewarm drink shortly after waking up. The vitamins, minerals and nutrients in lemon water get your brain going and strengthen your immune system. Just one glass of the healing water also boosts your immune system and prevents inflammation in your body. And last but not least: The fibre in the lemon provides a longer lasting feeling of fullness.
  • Move regularly: Regular exercise and sport will speed up your metabolism. Sweating helps to break down toxins through the skin. Active physical exercise has an enormous detoxifying effect and is more effective than passive detox methods such as sauna. It doesn’t matter whether you go for a walk or ride a bicycle: even little exercise helps your body to detoxify.
  • Broccoli: Broccoli has many antioxidants and contains a large amount of enzymes and nutrients that support the digestive system. In addition, eating the vegetable is said to stimulate the body to produce the anti-cancer substance I3C – and thus reduce the risk of cancer. Well, if that’s not a reason to eat the wonder vegetables at least once a week.
  • Dry brushing helps with detoxification: A quarter of the toxins that burden your body are excreted every day through the largest organ: the skin. Massaging your skin with a brush stimulates this process. The lymphatic system can work better, so the detoxification process is faster. Dry brushing the skin also stimulates the blood circulation, removes dead skin cells and thus promotes cell renewal.
  • Take a soda bath: Add half a cup of bath salts and a cup of bicarbonate of soda to the bath water. The reason: Soda is alkaline and neutralizes the acids on the skin. How does it work? The baking soda increases the pH of your bath water. The salt also has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect on the body – and ensures that the skin is better supplied with blood.
