How To Conceal Hairline: This is How You Conjure Up Full Hair with Eye Shadow!

You love full hair but don’t have any? No problem! We just paint it on now. Sounds totally absurd, but it’s not. Just wait and see.

Painting eyebrows? Everyone does it. Not everyone is blessed with full, bushy eyebrows à la Cara Delevingne. Too bad. However, many people are annoyed not only by their light eyebrows, but also by their light hair. As soon as the first hairs say goodbye, slight receding hairlines appear or we just don’t have full hair, we all wish we could just trace our hair. And you know what? We can do that too!

Kendall etc. do it too

Hair stylist Jen Atkin uses eye shadow on models like Kendall Jenner to make the hairline look more symmetrical. Simply ingenious! Basically this technique is not as difficult as you might think. You just have to make sure that you choose an eye shadow that matches your hair color exactly. Sometimes this is not so easy. If in doubt, choose a slightly lighter eye shadow. Too dark will attract too much attention! The only drawback: The painted hairline will only last until the next hair wash. But this method is still cheaper than hair implants, wigs or various hair treatments. How it all works, we will explain to you now.

Conceal hairline: How to do it

  1. Tie your hair in a braid. This method is actually only suitable for braids or hairstyles that are put back with gel or hairspray. If you wear your hair down, you will probably hardly see any effect.
  2. Now choose a matte eyeshadow or eyebrow powder that matches 100% – or at least 90% – of your hairline color. You can use this to set small landmarks at your roots, which you can then simply connect to create a symmetrical, round line.
  3. Now fill the gaps between the line and the actual hairline with light brush strokes. This will make it look as if you have more hair in the bald areas than you actually have. Ingenious! If you want to darken or color slightly larger areas, you can simply take a larger, firmly bound brush and dab the product onto the light areas. You can see how this works in the following video.
  4. Now you can comb back the baby hair at the hairline with some transparent eyebrow gel! This way you avoid the typical hairspray look and your hairstyle is still on fleek!
