What is bath salt good for?

When you mix mineral salts into your bath water, you prepare a healing bath, just like those made with hot spring water. Our skin can absorb the ingredients it is exposed to and allow these ingredients to enter the bloodstream. The minerals in the salts dissolve and mix with the water, and as we keep our bodies in this water, the minerals in the water reach our system through our pores. These minerals help alleviate muscle and joint pain and nourish our skin. The aromatic oils that we will add to the bath salt mixture relax and revitalize our system with scent molecules, just like in the aromatherapy session.

How to make bath salts

  • To make your own bath salt mix, mix one cup of epsom salt with one cup of sea salt (or himalayan salt).
  • Drip 20-40 drops of your favorite essential oil into the mixture. You can use lavender, rose, and chamomile oil for a relaxing effect. For a refreshing effect, essential oils such as lemon, rosemary and orange will be ideal.
  • Add 3 tablespoons of dried lavender flowers. You can also sprinkle other herbs you like.

How to use bath salt

Fill your bathtub with very hot water. Take a handful of your bath salt mixture and stir into the water. If you don’t have a bathtub to get into, you can also use this mixture as a foot bath.
